Quillings

I tried out some Paper Quillings and would like to share them with you.

All you need to do is that select the colored paper cut it into strips of half centimeter (You may also use ribbons for the same purpose). Now start rolling them with the help of a pencil or needle. Alongside is an example for various quliling shapes.

And as you scroll down you will find various craft ideas with quilling.
So start rolling, but be careful as you shape them....

Craft out of Scrap

Glass Bottles

  • Take old glass bottles and clean them.
  • Draw a figure upon it which you want to paint.
  • Now using glass paint, paint the figure.
  • Tear off white pages and fill in the bottle.

  •  Now, take old candles and cut them small so as to fill in the bottle mouth.

  •  Paint the candle if they are not coloured candles.

I took different sized hair oil bottles for this and made three of a kind for my sisters....

Garden Twigs

This is a photo frame made of garden twigs. It is a very easy yet attractive craft. All you need to do is:
  • Pick some garden twigs.
  • Get a photograph you want to frame.
  • Take three of the twigs and tie them together aligning them at an angle of 120 degree(approx.) to each other. This will let the photograph stand upon it.
  • Place the photograph and stick twigs on its sides.
  • Attach some artificial leaves and flowers to decorate it.

Remember, every little bit adds up !!!

Beautiful Jewellery-box

This beautiful and innovative jewellery box was gifted to me. My sis made this jewellery box with glass and did beautiful glass painting all around it. I love this gift. Thanks dear, I love you :)

  • Take equally cut thick glass pieces and stick it to form of the body and base. Use feviquick to stick.
  • Now, take hinge and locking system and attach it with another glass piece similarly.
  • Attach this system to the body.
  • The structure will require enough time to dry.
  • After it dries and you find it strong enough, make the stand for the box using m-seal.
  • Again leave it to dry.
  • With glass paint, paint the entire box.

My sister had put chocolates in a silver bag inside it. She also gave me some jewelleries. And the best of all was a white closed shell, and guess what it opened.... It contained a pearl earring, I loved it.....

The Masterpiece

Herez a masterpiece card which I made. Although its too big to carry but I m sure your loved ones will love it. So try it out and keep crafting...

Take a cardboard and divide it into 2 as this has to be BIG :)

Now you need to prepare the inside of the card first:
Paint out the pattern with paint (remember don't use much water along with paint as it would make your cardboard damp)
I attached a few pages and made it a kind of scrap book, you may try some other idea as per your wish...

Now you need to design the front page, you will require:
  • peacock feathers (minimum 10)
  • sequences (red, blue, violet and green)
  • fevicol
  • paint
  • white sheet
  • transparent sheet
  • colourful ribbons
  • golden lace
Stick a white sheet on the top of the cardboard.

Paint out the figure on it.
Trim the feathers to the required size and place it carefully it the space.
Cut out lace and apply it in layers so as to give a 3-D effect.
Now put sequences wherever required (see the picture).
Leave it to dry.
After that, paint a sheet golden-black and cut out margin for this.
Take transparent sheet and place it over this, then carefully stick this along with the margin.

Finally, all you need is to punch several holes at equal distances in both the drawing sheet (one placed over other as in a card).
Cut ribbons of different colors (colors in peacock feather is preferable).
Tie the two cardboard pieces with these ribbons.
